An intimate wedding was perfect for Rachel & Brian’s special day. I remember when my little sister started telling me about this guy, Brian, that she met in Chicago. He was kind-hearted, funny, and shared her interests. As I’ve grown to know Brian these past few years, I can’t imagine a better partner for my fierce, kind, passionate little sister. If course, an intimate wedding was not the plan, but as things have progressed this year my sister has shown her character and grace by planning a wedding that both honors her commitment to her (now) husband and honors her loved ones by involving them in the celebration while keeping their health in mind. I am so proud of her.
The bride chose to forego her original wedding dress, saving it for next year’s hopeful larger ceremony. And yet this dress was both stunning and perfectly Rachel.
We DIY’ed the florals with greens from Oberer’s Flower Market. Rachel’s vision was simple but beautiful and compliments her sweet but full-of-life personality.
An intimate wedding
There may have been many things that weren’t what Rachel & Brian originally pictured; masks, 200 less guests, virtual parties, a picnic shelter instead of an indoor venue. And yet, the charm and intimacy of this simple celebration was perfect in so many ways. The focus was on the couple, their love, and their promise to each other. I’d expect nothing less from Rachel & Brian. They are some of the most generous souls I know.
Just as we were beginning to wrap the evening up, the golden sun peeked out from the clouds and we were able to capture a few sun-soaked romantic portraits. It was such a beautiful portrait of the entire event; silver linings during a season that feels cloudy and grey.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Good! I’m so honored to be able to photograph this sacred day!
