She may protest that her little sister’s birthday is just one day before her own. She may be trying to get used to all of the attention her baby is getting from adoring family members. She may struggle with sharing toys.

But she also may delight in teaching her little sister about the magical world of Harry Potter. She might just show off her baby sister to friends and relatives. She likely will comfort her younger sister through challenging teenage years.

I loved getting to photograph the Smallwood family–two little girls exactly two years apart (minus one day). Soon their home will be full of giggles, of schemes, of four little feet pattering under invisibility cloaks and of tears. Lots of tears. I can’t wait to watch these little sisters grow up!
